Theatr Clwyd

The Clwyd Clippers (Mold Barbershop Harmony Club) put on 2 charity shows at Theatr Clwyd, Mold, North Wales, to celebrate their 25th anniversary on 14th July. The profits from them were divided between The Contact Club of Mold and The Eye Fund. It was a very successful day and a complete sell-out.

There was a variety of music all day from 2:00pm until 10:30pm.

The Eye Fund stall did very well with lots of sales, and the highlight was a sealed bid auction for a signed copy of Paul McCartney’s DVD “Good evening New York City” which raised £153. The successful bid was a joint venture between the Sherratt brothers—Rod, Graham and Barry.

Thanks to the Sherratt brothers and all who organised the event and made it a very successful day.

Specsavers Allerton – Charity days

Specsavers Allerton, Liverpool, organised three charity days in May to fundraise for The Eye Fund.

Siobhan, Alison, Paula and the rest of the team worked really hard calling at local businesses for donations and holding a raffle and other events, such as “Guess how many pairs of specs in box” and “Name the teddy”.

Between them they raised a brilliant £228.

The trustees of The Eye Fund send their grateful thanks.

What a wonderful effort from the staff and clients of Specsavers in St. Helens.

After raffles, collections, and a fun day in the store in aid of The Eye Fund, they presented Carol and Paul with a cheque for £1210.67. Well done everybody

Specsavers are holding a charity night on 7th May at Bar 44 in St. Helens. Tickets are only £5.00 each and are available from Specsavers, 2-4 Bridge Street, St. Helens.

There is to be an auction on the night, items to include:

a tour for 4 around Anfield
a tour for 2 around Goodison Park (if they can find 2 people who’d want to go…)
2 Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Vivaz mobile phones
a signed Jason Mansford DVD
and other special items

There will also be a “FUN DAY” in the St. Helens Specsavers store 2-4 Bridge Street, on 14th May 9am to 5pm.

All proceeds from both events will go to The Eye Fund charity.

West Haddon Players

On 8th July Carol and Paul went to West Haddon in Leicestershire.

Paul’s niece, Jane, belongs to the West Haddon Players. The group who put on several performances each year donate the proceeds to a designated charity. This year’charity was The Eye Fund.

Thanks to The Plough

We’d like to extend a huge Thank You! to Mike Traynor and all of the regulars at The Plough in Ipplepen, Devon. They had a charity night and raised over £700 for The Eye Fund.

Simon spent his final years in the village there and was a regular in the pub quiz team (and whenever EastEnders was on the big screen). Great work, everyone!
