Fantastic 6 months for The Eye Fund

What a great 6 months The Eye Fund has had. Money coming from everywhere.

It is great that so many people make time to enjoy themselves and at the same time raise funds for our charity.

Here are just some of the events that have taken place:

  • Race nights at Formby Social Club: £500
  • Race nights Ashville Lodge, WSBPS: £214
  • Race nights Commercial Traveller’s Lodge: £613
  • Luncheon Club Formby, Talk: £393
  • Helen’s Cocktail Parties: £385
  • Jewellery sales, Vocal Infinity choir: £484
  • Donation, Vocal infinity, their charity for the year: £1000
  • Gig for Simon: £1189
  • Gift Aid recipes: £987
  • Great Mogul Quizzes: £591

Let’s hope we can carry on like this so we can help even more people like Simon who are visually-impaired.

Thank you, everyone.

Fantastic donation by Vocal Infinity

Carol and Paul enjoyed a really successful and boozy cocktail party at Helen and Russell’s house.

It was attended by most of Vocal Infinity who presented The Eye Fund with an amazing cheque for £1000. The Eye Fund has been Vocal Infinity’s designated charity for the past year and this sum of money was beyond all expectation. The choir have sung and raised money in many other ways and we really do thank them for it.

Come and hear them sing at The Gig For Simon on 8th December at Studio 2, Liverpool.

Nice letter of thanks

Just made another donation to help towards funding your counselling service at St. Paul’s Eye Unit. Having just re-read your kind note of thanks for my other donations I realise that I may not have given you much information including a reason for the donations. I am a grateful beneficiary both of the counselling service and the patient care at St. Paul’s. Over the past five years I have had several successful interventions but also had to cope with a number of unexpected issues and a huge amount of anxiety.

The counselling sessions with Wendy Lee in 2014 made a dramatic difference to my experience. I did consider asking for more sessions earlier this year but on the day of my operation I found that just looking at your poster in the day ward was enough to keep me reasonably calm!

Warmest wishes for the future of the Eye Fund.

Janet

Great month of November

We have just had a fantastic month of November with money coming in from all sides.

We’ve had Sales, 3 Craft fairs, and a Race night all bringing in £660.49.

Then we have had various donations with another £406.36, and 8 monthly mandates with £62.50.

The total for the month is £1129.35. Thanks to everyone who bought, donated, helped in any way.

Wouldn’t it be great if that came in every month?

Newton Ladies Guild

The ladies of the guild very kindly made The Eye Fund their designated charity for 2012. Carol and Paul have visited them on several occasions and have always been made most welcome.

On the evening of 17th January 2013, Carol was presented with a cheque for £400. A tremendous amount from a small group of hard working ladies.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Clwyd Clippers

On the evening of November 19th Carol and Paul attended a concert given by The Clwyd Clippers. At the end of this concert a cheque was presented to the value of £750 from a musical event held at Theatr Clwyd in the summer.

This was an amazing amount and thanks go to everybody who made this possible.
